Rumor: Justin Bieber to Replace Paul Walker in “Fast and Furious 7″

After Paul Walker’s death on November 30, rumors surrounding the future of the Fast and Furious film franchise have circulated heavily on social media. One of those rumors states that pop star Justin Bieber will replace Walker in the seventh installment of the series, which had been shooting at the time of the actor’s death. Is there any truth to this rumor?

It is false.

The rumor surrounding Bieber’s involvement stems from an interview with Ludacris in May 2013 and a story from July 2013 which speculated that the pop singer may land a role in the upcoming Fast and Furious 7 film. The article from Hollywood Life included a clip of the interview with Ludacris in which he was asked if Justin Bieber may have a role in the seventh installment of the Fast franchise. In the interview, Ludacris stated that the film was being written “as we speak.” When asked if Justin Bieber may be “angling for a part,” Ludacris responded, “He’s probably ready to shoot, I guarantee… I think he’s gonna love this movie so much he’s gonna try to get in here.” He also added there were “a lot of people fighting for position to get parts in the movie, but we’ll see how we can incorporate everybody.”

Ludacris did not say that Bieber had a role in the film, and Paul Walker was still alive at the time of this interview.

After the Ludacris interview, badly-Photoshopped photos (see below) and fan-made videos and trailers began appearing online by eager fans of the pop star in hopes that he may have an appearance in the film. There were, however, no announcements regarding a starring role for Bieber in the movie, nor has he since been slated to replace Walker.

Badly-Photoshopped photos such as this one appear to be the work of eager fans of the pop star.

Universal did state that Fast & Furious 7 would shut down “for a period of time so we can assess all options available to move forward with the franchise.” When asked if the film would eventually be resumed, direct director James Wan simply answered, “Yes.” Other than that, there have been no definitive announcements or decisions made regarding Paul Walker’s role in the film.

Bottom Line
There have been no announcements that Justin Bieber will star in Fast 7, or that he will replace Paul Walker in the film. This speculation stems from an interview with Ludacris discussing a possible role for Bieber in the film months before production had begun.

OMG seriously its a definitely no no if justin bieber plays that roll..I would seriously not be interested in the movie anymore. He is weird and Immature, & I dont think he would be able to pull it off in the movie as the main character..It is too much of a job for him..It would be really amazing if Paul Walkers brother would play the role instead(:

Paul Walker is irreplaceable, but to complete the team believe that Ryan Gosling would be a good substitute. Perhaps as a brother Bryan.

Yeah, okay. They can replace a 40 year old character with a 20 year old actor? Talk about “willing suspension of disbelief”. Not gonna happen. The only thing they could do would be to kill off the Brian character and bring the Beebs in as someone new.

how about you don’t put him in ff7, or put him in ff7 and let everyone beat the hell out of him, might as well call ff7, FAG and furious 7, or furious FAG 7, the beat down. i think dom would really like the idea. only way im watching ff7 is if his not in it and/ or he gets to die in the end, man, bama would be a lot better, and don’t you think putting beiber in would be a disgrace to the late paul walker, his completely the opposite of this good hearted guy, SPECIALLY IN REAL LIFE…

Wow, you may as well spit on paul walkers grave if this happens, what an insult to paul walker, the fans and the franchise. The franchise would be worth 2cents if this happens. A billion dollar franchise and you choose Justin bieber, come on seriously!

if they put Justin Bieber ill still go and watch the movie because i know that Paul walker did half of the movie before he past away. but it just wont be the same because Paul walker wont be in it no more. but please don’t put Justin Bieber there are alot of actors that look like Paul walker, Justin Bieber just isn’t the right person to replace Paul walker.

Honestly if they were to use Justin Bieber I would honestly lose interest in the franchise. Not to downplay any of the other movies in the series but honestly if you’re going to cast another white character make it Bama from Tokyo drift. He met Dom in the end, knew Han and would be a perfect fit because he already has the racing experience. Besides I think it would be a good idea to bring him back into the series setting that he’s the new D.K.and everything. I mean seriously producer’s think about it.

The only problem I have with the alternative that you’ve brought up is that that means Han can’t be in Fast 7.
